John Kerry graduates from Yale, serves in the U.S. Navy in in Vietnam, and upon his return becomes involved in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War movement. He comes to Boston to attend Boston College Law School, is subsequently elected district attorney for Middlesex County. Kerry marries Teresa Heinz, serves as lieutenant governor (1982-84), in the U.S. Senate (1985-2013) , as Secretary of State (2013-2014, and as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (2021-).
